The Sanitation Driver is an entry to mid-level position for a qualified applicant possessing a valid West Virginia CDL Class "B" license. The position is subject to overtime.

Job Summary: Under regular supervision, drives and operates trucks and other equipment used in the collection and transportation of residential and commercial refuse or recyclable materials along established, City collection routes. Work also involves maintaining equipment and vehicles, and performing related tasks as required. May be expected to guide workers in the absence of a supervisor. The driver Reports to the Sanitation Supervisor.

Trial Service Period: 90 days (employment remains at-will at all times)

Minimum Training and Experience: Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent with one to two years of experience in equipment operations; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid West Virginia CDL Class "B" driver's license.

Physical Requirements: Tasks involve the regular, and at times sustained, performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which involves the lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of items of moderately heavy weight (up to 50 pounds) and occasionally heavier weight (up to 100 pounds).
