Salary Range: $48.397.60 - $60,497

We are hiring a Laboratory Technician for our Anaheim Product Industrialization Team who is launching a “New Venture” involving sample preparation, bench-scale work, and measurement with analytical instruments. The role will involve work between different technologies (solid powder, encapsulation, liquids).

Key Responsibilities:

• Compound flavor formulations or bench-scale batches in a timely manner as required to meet customer or project deadlines (Follow instructions and or adjust them when appropriate)
• Responsible for accurate compounding with weighing flavor components, packing, labeling, and shipping flavors.
• Perform all necessary measurements using analytical instruments to characterize the products
• Document/report observation made during preparation of samples or bench-scale work
• Support efforts to provide any necessary paperwork for flavor sample shipments.
• Handle shipping responsibilities to deliver flavor samples that meet customer deadlines.
• Assure compliance of safety procedures and proactively contribute to the improvement of lab safety.
• Maintain stock of all raw materials in appropriate locations for the lab.
• Monitor shelf life of inventory and order materials when needed.
• Responsible for all lab upkeep and supplies.
• Organize chemical/flavor sample storage and maintain clutter-free labs.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workstation. Daily putting away raw materials in the cabinets to keep lab air quality optimal, wiping down counters, running dishwasher and dispose of hazardous waste.
• Dispose outdated chemicals and retained flavors and keys on a quarterly basis or as needed.

• REQUIRED – Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Chemistry or related discipline with 1-2 years of industry related experience
