Taylor Shellfish Farms is the largest shellfish farming company in the United States. We are family-owned and operated for five generations. We are a vertically integrated company owning and operating every part of the business from our hatcheries to oyster bars. We specialize in growing premium shellfish that includes clams, mussels, geoduck, and four species of oysters. Our tide-to-table concept has us delivering live product around the world daily. POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Samish Oyster Bar and Market Team member will play an important and diverse role in the shellfish market operations. We are a busy, fast paced Oyster Bar and Restaurant looking to add several team members for the spring and summer season. We work together in a fun and energetic environment where all staff can work all positions. Our Seafood Market is open from 10am-sunset seasonally and our Kitchen begins service at 12pm and also runs to sunset seasonally. We set up, rock and roll, clean up and go about our day. We offer set schedules, and each day has multiple shifts for flexible scheduling. We are happy to work around school schedules and 2nd jobs for the right candidates. We are excited to hire all levels of restaurant and retail experience and train for each station. Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar and Shellfish Market is located directly on Samish Bay in Bow Washington


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent customer service to all guests
  • Ability to learn how to shuck oysters quickly under pressure
  • Educate customers on Taylor Shellfish Products
  • Ability to process shellfish quickly in accordance with company best practices to meet wholesale, retail and picnic demands
  • Stock inventory
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work place
  • Accurately record wholesale orders via phone
  • Work all stations within the Market Store effectively
  • Reconcile daily sales to service report, count, balance and deposit cash drawer regularly


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Washington Food Workers Certificate
  • MAST Certification
  • Team and Individual leadership skills
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Strong and sound decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal skills
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Must maintain positive company morale
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit, stand and/or walk on uneven ground
  • The employee may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat
-The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the -ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and managers
  • Must be able to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation-Must be able to drive to multiple locations
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
