What this position entails

The Sales Consultant provides subject matter expertise to clients and internal parties through presentations, in-depth discussions with clients, responding to client questions, as well as designing and delivering proof of concept studies that showcase the value proposition of our tools. In addition to having a deep understanding of Milliman IntelliScript tools, knowledge of our clients’ products, challenges, and processes is needed to be able to effectively communicate and guide clients in determining the most effective use of the tools to help accomplish their goals and reduce their pain points. The Sales Consultant needs to be a strategic thinker to craft messaging for clients and pivot as needed during discussions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide subject matter expertise to clients in support of sales executives and client relationship managers
  • Design and deliver client proof of concept studies showcasing the value proposition of the tools.
  • Develop and maintain connections to relevant industries (e.g., health plans, group insurance carriers, PEOs, MGUs, direct stop-loss writers) to continue to effectively understand issues facing clients

What we need

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or another major with quantitative course work
  • 10 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Strong technical skills, including command of Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interpret output from SQL, R, Python or similar languages
  • Experience leading meetings that take place in person, virtually, as well as hybrid
  • Experience creating proof of concept studies and presenting ROI to executive sponsors

Location and Travel

This role will require approximately 40% U.S. travel for client meetings, conferences, and company events. This percentage may be higher or lower for any given month due to timing of conferences, meetings, travel restrictions, etc.

This position will be based out of the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI; however, this position is open to remote work. Applicants must be willing to travel to the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI as needed.

The salary range is $85,000 to $220,000, depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, skills, certifications, and location. If relevant experience is less than 10 years the range would be $85,000 to $140,000; for experience of greater than 10 years, the range would be $130,000 to $220,000. In addition, we offer a performance-based bonus plan, profit sharing, and generous benefits.
