We are Detroit’s first & only Benjamin Moore Paint & Design store located in the City’s Milwaukee Junction / North End District. The Color Bloc is proud to be a family owned independent dealer of an industry leading company in architectural coatings for over 130 years.

Store Operations
- Provide a great customer service experience.
- Greet all customers in a cheerful, professional and timely manner upon entering the store or when assisting them on the phone as per company guidelines.
- Determine a customer’s needs by asking questions and listening to the their response.
- Have the ability to discern a client’s needs and recommend with confidence the best solution and products for their specific project.
- Possess the ability to suggest the right tools and accessories that will help the client successfully complete their project.
- Perform customer service activities including but not limited to sales, fulfilling contractor orders, assisting clients with color and product questions, accurately enter client data into a point of purchase system, enter information from telephone and e-commerce orders, precision tinting and mixing of paint, carrying paint to customers’ vehicles.
- Responsible for supporting the store manager in all aspects of store operations including but not limited to, unloading trucks, stocking shelves, cycle stock inventory, track order status, monitor product shipment, uphold merchandising standards, delivery of paint, keeping all interior & exterior retail and operation areas clean.
- Assist store manager with telephone sales calls, create and update customer information.
- Arrive to work at your scheduled time - on time. Present a professional, neat appearance.
- Stay current with product updates and training.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in the retail employee handbook.
Qualifications
- 1 year minimum of Retail Sales and Customer Service experience is a must.
. Paint experience nice but not necessary as long as you're willing to learn
- Due to the nature of tinting one must possess the ability to differentiate color.
- Strong detail-oriented abilities and skills.
- Ability to negotiate in an effective manor with customers.
- Have good organizational skills including the ability to do multiple tasks accurately.
- Be highly motivated with a strong willingness to learn and the ability to retain information.
- Be able to manage your time efficiently and appropriately without supervision.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to converse over the telephone.
- Valid Driver’s License
- This job involves a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to bending, lifting, stacking, standing for long periods, use of step ladders, and driving. Individual must be able to lift 70 lbs.
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
