Job Description / Descripción del trabajo:

PCI is seeking a Safety Technician for its Phoenix 562 operations based in Tempe, AZ. This position is responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist the project(s) with implementing and administering the PCG and client with safety prevention plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure that the company and client safety reports, statistics and documentation are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Provide safety technical expertise and support to the projects(s).
  • Promote safety and safe work practices.
  • Assist in the investigation of work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents.
  • Enforce corrective action to prevent the recurrence of hazardous conditions or behaviors.
  • Practice timely and accurate accident reporting.
  • Review all accidents and investigation reports.
  • Act as liaison between the company and client as it relates to site safety management.
  • Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine and non-routine safety and health hazards.
  • Council and coach craft workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies and procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards.
  • Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance.
  • Establish branch and project safety goals.
  • Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide comprehensive monthly reports to Site Safety Manager as required.
Requirements / Requisitos:

Basic Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience implementing safety on active construction sites.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Construction Science or related discipline, or comparable work experience.
  • OSHA certification.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.
  • Customer service skills, such as able to work with customers and build strong relationships.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Able to work nights & weekends.
  • Able to work extended weekday hours to support site work schedules.

Preferred Requirements:

  • OSHA 500/510 is a plus.
