Salary Range: $65,000 - $76,000 USD annually + Benefits (+ Bonus)
The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position at the time of posting. Within the range, exact compensation will be determined based on education/training, skill set, experience, and other organizational needs.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an organized individual to join us as a Safety Coordinator in our Othello Washington Facility. As the successful candidate, you will be a hands-on representative of the Safety department and help facilitate all basic Safety functions. In this position, you will provide administrative support to ensure that safety procedures and protocols are adequately implemented and enforced in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Support EHS Manager in developing and administering plant safety initiatives and lead continuous improvement efforts in those areas, utilizing effective communication skills (verbal and written).
Plan, conduct and record all safety training initiatives
Ensures daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections and audits are completed as necessary to comply with local, state and federal regulations.
Assist with review and assessment of the department’s safety program and report to Environmental Health and Safety Manager.
Conduct regular unannounced walk through of work areas and talk to the personnel to identify their concerns. Communicate safety and health issues to the workers in a manner to help them understand why they are important and addressing them is for their benefit.
Review, maintain, file safety permits (CS/LOTO/HW)
Develop Job Hazard/Safety Analysis (JSAs)
Conduct Ergonomic Assessments as necessary and report deficiencies and corrective actions.
Oversee hazardous waste storage area, waste reduction monitoring and ensure regulatory agency compliance, labeling, containments, proper disposal and documentation.
Assist Environmental Health and Safety Manager with incident investigations and follow up action registers.
Assisting in preparing and updating SWPPP and SPCC plans
Developing lockout/tagout procedures for various manufacturing and building operation equipment – reviewing on an annual basis
Assist and Support EHS Manager conduct monthly Safety Committee meetings and act as a resource for issues reported
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in safety management, relations or related field
1-2 years of progressively responsible Safety experience
General knowledge of Safety administrative, theories, practices, and regulations
Excellent communication skills – listening, verbal and written
Strong computer skills including knowledge of word processing, excel spreadsheets, data-based software, presentation software, email and web browsers
Outstanding interpersonal skills: ability to foster positive working relationships
Strong aptitude for numbers and analyzing information, attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
A self-starter with ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Excellent problem solving and coaching abilities
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
