Northwest Offset Printing, located in beautiful Spokane Valley, WA is seeking a Roll Tender to join their team!
Position: Roll Tender
Status: Full-time, Non-exempt
Salary: $21/hr.
Hours: variable 5 days a week, 8 hour shifts
Location: Spokane Valley, WA
About this role: The Roll Tender is responsible for the operation of the automated Roll Stands and is responsible to ensure continuous operation of the printing presses. By the successful completion of these duties as a Roll Tender, under the direction of the 1st or 2ndOperator, the Roll Tender is responsible to complete the assigned tasks during make-ready’s or PM’s. The Roll Tender is responsible for the general safety and housekeeping in their assigned work area, and good communications with other team members.
What you'll do:
· Read and understand all components of the job ticket/instructions
· Load proper paper and make splices or paster patterns that consistently succeed throughout press runs
· Identification and recording of any product quality problems
· Initiate, recommend, or provide solution to problems
· Consume / process only those materials which indicate status of acceptance
· Capable of performing all applicable duties of the Stacker Person
· Perform tasks related to emergency maintenance
· Effectively communicate with supervisors and fellow employees.
· Order press related materials, as required.
· Interpret instructions and make decisions that impact quality and production goals.
· Assist in training press crew members.
· Assist 1st and 2nd pressmen to ensure that PMs are effectively completed on all associated press equipment.
· Performs other duties as assigned by supervision or the 1st Operator and 2nd Operator.
What you’ll contribute to our team: Ability to read and interpret work instructions, safety guidelines, job instructions, other work related material, and direct instruction. Ability to communicate with employees through various methods including the use of email, text, and in-person. Prior printing press or roll tender experience is required.
