Local Salary: $40 - $52 per hour

The Telephonic Triage RN triages incoming and outgoing customer service programs, assessing the caller’s needs and symptoms, providing appropriate clinical and administrative advice, and following appropriate clinical protocols to assist the caller’s needs.

Responsibilities:

• Applies professional skills and knowledge of established concepts, principles, and practice to provide telephonic nursing services including, but not limited to, health information, health education, healthcare assessment, and triage
• Conducts thorough and sound nursing assessments of the callers’ presenting symptoms
• Develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care for each caller’s presenting symptoms
• Applies nursing process to identify and prioritize healthcare triage interventions that are appropriate, accurate, effective, and reduce the risk of adverse outcomes
• Follows policies and procedure to document call inquiries
• Answers calls in a timely manner
• Maintains confidentiality of callers and their personal issues
• Interacts with callers and other staff in a polite and courteous manner
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license for the state of practice
• One year of prior professional nursing experience preferred; one year of Registered Nurse experience preferred
• Critical thinking skills
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including but not limited to supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills
• Current health certificate (if applicable)
• Current PPD/TB or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Computer proficiency required
