Compensation :
- $26.56 - $44.35
- $5,000 new hire sign-on bonus (Full-Time only)

- Full Time AM: 3-12 hour shifts per week (6:30am-7:00pm)
- Full Time PM: 3-12 hour shifts per week (6:30pm-7:00am)
- Full Time Weekend PM

Unit Details :
The Neurology Stroke Surgical Step-down Unit is a 20-bed step-down unit that provides care to neurology patients recovering from various types of stroke, seizures, neuromuscular diseases, and neurosurgical procedures. This intermediate patient population requires continuous bedside monitoring due to their illness acuity, including patients recovering from thrombolytic therapy. This unit titrates a collection of drips including vasoactive, anticoagulants, antiarrhythmics, and hypertonics, amongst others. UAB Neurology and Neurosurgery is consistently ranked among the top 50 programs of its kind nationally by U.S. News & World Report, which also has ranked UAB’s program as No. 1 in Alabama. UAB is also Alabama’s first Comprehensive Stroke Center, which means that as soon as patients arrive, we are prepared to deliver the latest stroke treatment.

Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
