Our home health provider group and its hospice team based in Los Angeles county is currently looking for an EXPERIENCED California-registered RN who has worked as hospice/ palliative care supervisor or assistant DON and ready to step up as DON/ Director for Patient Care Services in the LA areas. Experience in Joint Commission surveys is a big plus.

This opportunity is also open to a newly experienced DON in hospice/ palliative care who is capable of managing a clinical team with full knowledge on Medicare regulations/ conditions of participation, OASIS assessments, and wish to continue an entry level position to further increase her years of experience.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, positive-minded and very compassionate in providing quality care. Willing to supervise clinical staff in the office 90% of the time and admit some patients or perform supervisory visits ONLY when necessary in the Los Angeles and San Fernando/ Simi Valley areas 10% of the time.

Bilingual (Tagalog/ Spanish) is a plus but not strictly and willing to travel in the areas mentioned above in order to qualify.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Joint Commission surveys.
  • Nursing license - California (back to back or certificate).
  • CPR certification - back to back.
  • California Drivers License.
  • Car insurance - California.
  • SS no.
  • Proof of authorization to work, if applicable.

Others:
  • TB test.
  • Physicals.
  • Titers- MMR/Varicella.
  • Immunization, optional.
  • List of 2 professional/ work references OR recommendation letters.

Skills:
  • Clinical management experience in hospice/ palliative care.
  • Strong ability to explain benefits to patients clearly (EOB).
  • Proficiency in computer and Microsoft.
  • Knowledge in OPTIMA Healthcare Solution software is a plus.
  • Organized.
  • Productive.

  • Patient.
  • And love dealing with people in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to lead a nursing team and comply with Medicare regulations.
  • Occasional home visits.
