We have a fantastic job opportunity for a Risk Management Support Officer to join our small and busy Risk Management Team.

Effective risk management is at the heart of any successful organisation’s operations and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is no exception. The Risk Management service is a part of our Audit Services division, made up of qualified professionals specialising in internal audit, investigation, counter fraud, risk management and health and safety support services.

We pride ourselves on our high quality, responsive and customer focused service and we now offer our experience and expertise to other public sector organisations and schools.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team and support us advise, train and engage with different parts of the business and effectively deliver risk management solutions across the organisation. You will also be responsible for maintaining the data systems used by the team for recording and reporting risks.

To make this job yours, you will have a relevant degree (or equivalent) and have a good awareness of the principles of risk management and customer service. This is a great opportunity to learn ‘on the job’ whilst also being supported to undertake a formal risk management professional qualification. No previous risk management experience is needed, and full training is provided.

We would like to talk to you if you are a person with a keen eye for detail and like finding solutions to challenges. You will be self-motivated, highly organised and with excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to work with senior stakeholders and customers.

We are currently implementing our Smarter Ways of Working as we recognise that work is what you do and not necessarily where you go. Our aim is to balance the needs of our employees with service delivery. This role will include a combination of working from home and from our offices in central Solihull.
