Opening in spring 2023 following a $12 million renovation, LEGO® Discovery Center Boston_ will give families in Boston and across the northeast the opportunity to experience highly interactive indoor LEGO® play experiences including a ride, 4D theatre, LEGO® Space digital experience, DUPLO® Park, Hero Zone, and Creative Club among other immersive experiences._
We are looking for an enthusiastic Retail Supervisor_ to help us lead our retail and food & beverage teams to create magical memories for our guests in Boston’s ultimate indoor LEGO experience!_

  • *About the Role

Reporting into the Commerical Manager, the Retail Supervisor is responsible for delivering world class customer service through operational effectiveness and staff development. Role ensures all respective team members are fully trained to all company standards including guest experience, LEGO® retail requirements, cleanliness, food safety, and financial controls. Retail Supervisor will develop effective schedules, control inventory, maintain proper stock levels and visual appeal of assigned locations.This role also includes manager-on-duty shifts on the floor of the attraction overseeing the daily operation of all departments. Compensation for this opportunity is $20.00 per hour.About the Job

  • *Retail and F&B Operations
  • Lead and motivate staff to be “guest obsessed” and provide exemplary customer service
  • Uphold all health and safety policies and procedures and ensure all teams are compliant
  • Achieve commercial revenue targets by driving spends and upsells, training staff in visual merchandising, and managing inventory and product loss
  • Resolve guest inquiries and complaints in a way that balances excellent guest service with the needs of the business
  • Perform daily and weekly stock counts, and collaborate effectively with Commercial manager on commercial specific tasks, processes, and inquiries

Manager On Duty for Attraction

  • Oversee the smooth operation of all departments including Admissions, Guest Experience, Food and Beverage, and Retail
  • Efficiently respond to issues throughout the day by communicating between relevant departments
  • Manage queues and guest flow within the busiest areas of the attraction in the safest and most optimal way

Coordinate Training of Retail and F&B Hosts

  • Initiate and organize all host training and evaluation within Retail and F&B departments and maintain adequate records
  • Deliver LEGO® brand training to staff
  • Ensure the highest levels of safety and compliance by all retail and food & beverage staff
  • Ensure that team members are empowered to deliver outstanding customer service including guest recovery as needed

Create Weekly Schedules

  • Develop and manage schedule for over 30 host positions within the Commercial department
  • Forecast the staffing needs of the business during trading periods

Employee Development

  • Develop team members through team building, praise, coaching, training, and discipline, according to company and department standards
  • Develop and execute programs to engage staff and improve performance with incentives and recognition

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with two (2) years of related experience in Retail and Food & Beverage.
  • A career-oriented individual with a background in leading teams in the hospitality or attractions industry.
  • A guest-first mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work well within a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, especially in creating and/or implementing new operational procedures or new systems and positively influencing team members within an innovative, fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of cash-handling, point of sale automated systems and inventory/sales auditing is required.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Open availability, especially during our industry’s peak business days on weekends, holidays, and school breaks.
