Job description
Responsibilities:
Job Summary:
To administer general respiratory care modalities and function independently in all adult intensive care areas in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Implement and monitor all therapeutic modalities per physician's orders. Provide on call staffing for department needs. Function as a Code Captain in at least one patient population- Adult, Pediatric, or Neonatal. Competent to perform all duties and responsibilities of a shift lead and function as an alternate shift lead therapist. Develop and broaden assessment skills, communication skills, and knowledge base within these areas while preparing for the next level, Respiratory/Neonatal Pediatric Critical Care.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program

Required Experience:
Minimum: 2 years experience as an RRT practicing in a Neonatal, Pediatric or Adult patient population. Validation of competencies for a Respiratory Therapist Critical Care.


Required Certification/License/Registry:

Minimum: Must possess & maintain licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with the State of Florida Department of Health and the National Board of Respiratory Care and possess Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) AND Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (PALS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) preferred-must be obtained within 90 days of start.
