Summary:
Provides financial services to prospective and existing clients of the Bank, exclusively related to obtaining loans secured by residential real estate. Provides portfolio and secondary market loan programs to clients, with an emphasis on Jumbo mortgage loans. Develops an external referral network of realtors, attorneys, CPAs, etc. to solicit and refer mortgage business. In addition, services Private Banker’s mortgage referrals.

Responsibilities:

  • Counsels and explains products, rates, terms, and payment amounts to customer; provides necessary information, analysis, and comparisons to assist applicants with application process and to make sound financial decisions that are in applicant’s best interest.
  • Completes mortgage applications received and provides initial disclosures, as required, on all new applications, including program selection and rate lock agreement.
  • Generates new mortgage business through approved promotional activities and expands new mortgage customer relationships through self-generated leads.
  • Partners with Commercial Lending and Wealth Management business lines to cross-sell loans and Wealth Management services.
  • Supports assigned Banking Offices by providing mortgage and deposit services to new and existing clients.
  • Guides home buyers through application and mortgage process.
  • Remains primary point of contact for loan applicants throughout the process.
  • Adheres to all Bank policies and procedures.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of Bank products and regulations by attending all required trainings and meetings, and completes required courses; incorporates knowledge and skills into daily responsibilities to ensure that all inquiries and applications are taken in accordance with all federal and state regulations.
  • Represents Bank in professional manner; provides exceptional service and advice to potential customers.
  • Maintains active Mortgage Loan Originator (“MLO”) license with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and completes all required training.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years mortgage sales experience.
  • Proven track record of successful residential mortgage origination and closed production over an extended period, with an existing base of referral partners, in an established territory.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex financial clients.
  • Excellent experience managing mortgage pipeline, assisting customers, inputting applications, and reviewing financial and credit data.
  • Excellent experience developing and cultivating self-generated referral sources and partnerships with retail branches.
  • Strong experience generating loan pre-qualification letters.
  • Strong experience with loan origination software.
  • Strong knowledge of all state and federal mortgage regulations.
  • Excellent sales skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cooperatively in team environment.
  • Excellent ability to meet deadlines.
  • Valid U.S driver’s license.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Frequent sitting and standing at a desk.
  • Heavy keyboard use.
  • Moderate driving.
