The Residence Life Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position. The position oversees multiple areas within the Residence Life department. The Residence Life Coordinator works closely with Student Rights & Responsibilities, Special Events, Student Involvement, and is supervised by the Director of Residence Life.

Job Responsibilities

Residence Life Responsibilities

  • Lives on-campus, and serves in an on-call rotation
  • Supervises a team of resident assistants, and 2 community advisors
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the residence life programming model
  • Development of on-going staff development opportunities for residence life team
  • Plan and execute student staff recruitment, selection, and training
  • Advertise, and recruit students to increase enrollment in on-campus residence halls
  • Edits and Updates Residence Life website, dates, policies, and staff training manual
  • Assist in the maintaining of and support of access system management including but not limited to: key audits and keyless access systems
  • Troubleshoot incoming calls, emails, and student questions in the Residence Life office
  • Assist in housing assignments for new and returning students
  • Assist in running monthly all-staff meetings
  • Serve on departmental committees
  • Meet weekly with direct supervisor
  • Oversee all Residential conduct, including, but not limited to, violations of the student code of conduct and the Residence Life handbook

Summer Conferences Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Office of Special Events to execute summer camps and conferences.
  • Responsible for the coordination of housing assignments as pertaining to Summer Camps and Conferences
  • Be a point of contact for camps for any needs - troubleshoot, maintenance, etc. Including after hours, and weekend responsibilities
  • Oversee all preparation of keys, key cards, lanyards and other supply needs of groups
  • Be responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and executing all camp policies and emergency procedures associated with the camp.
  • Coordinate with Facilities to ensure all areas are clean, organized, and prepared for residential camps. Including turnover of buildings, and management of furniture.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student-staff to assist in camp and conference execution.

Other

  • Serve as trained Title IX hearing board member as needed
  • Participate in Faculty-Staff Judicial Board as needed
  • Assist in staffing Campus Life or Major Campus events as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in education, counseling, or similar field preferred
  • Experience with Residence Life
  • Experience with program development and execution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Excellent organization and administrative skills
  • Experience with student-staff supervision, development, and training

Conditions of Employment

  • May not accept other employment on or off campus unless approved by Dean of Students
  • Must live on-campus (apartment and meal plan provided by Residence Life)
  • Be available to work some nights and weekends as scheduled
  • Reappointment is based on job performance and evaluation
