Job Summary

The Research Scientist (Bioinformatician) will perform high end transcriptomics, genomics and epigenomics analysis of big data sets from biological experiments in cells and mice.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs independent original research in human and animal bioinformatics under guidance of the Principal Investigator.
  • Conducts programing, bioinformatics and statistical analysis on large genomic data sets.
  • Records, analyzes, organizes, and presents experimental results to the Principal Investigator and the scientific community at lab meetings and conferences.
  • Prepares and writes manuscripts in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
  • Assists the Principal Investigator in preparing grant applications.
  • Trains new staff and students.
  • Communicates clearly with co-workers and clients in the dissemination of the results.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in bioinformatics or related field and four years of bioinformatics experience in high end programming (Unix/Lenux, R, Python), next generation sequencing, data analysis, and bioinformatics. Experience analyzing large genomic datasets.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 6/30/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
