Position Overview

We are currently looking for a Research Associate II, who will execute screening experiments to map TCR/antigen specificity.

Antigen Map is a collaborative project between Adaptive Biotechnologies and Microsoft which will use immune sequencing coupled with machine learning to decode the relationship between a T cell receptor sequence and its antigen specificity. As a member of the Antigen Map Production Lab, you will be directly responsible for general lab and assay support, setting up and running cell-based assays, performing some cell sorting and running plate-based binding assays to generate this TCR-Antigen Map

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Primary human immune cell isolation, expansion, and stimulation.
  • Current experience or the desire to acquire skills on Cell cytometer for cell sorting, troubleshooting sorter issues and some cell sorter maintenance.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to unexpected observations or results
  • Collaborate with team members to allocate and execute daily activities in dynamic lab environment
  • Formulate reagents and stock supplies as needed to support operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Other)

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in biological science or other related field
  • 2+ years of experience with immunological techniques or cell isolation/culture

Preferred

  • Experience with flow cytometry and cell sorting operations
  • Prior experience working to Standard Operating Procedures and documenting batch records a plus
  • Prior experience at a biotechnology or biopharmaceutical company desirable
  • Comfortable working in a team lab environment with experimental handoffs between team members being the daily norm
  • Exceptional communication with team, organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet defined deadlines

Working Conditions

Flexibility to workdays of uneven duration and/or outside of core business hours as necessary is desired.

Physical Requirements

Position requires sitting or standing for much of the workday. Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. is needed. Some data entry into computer systems is also required. Position involves working in a laboratory handling human biological specimens.

Compensation

Salary Range: $62,200 - $93,400

Other compensation elements include:

  • equity grant
  • bonus eligible
