Job Summary:

This role is within the Center for Research to Advance Community Health (ReACH) and will be funded by two Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) awards (PI: Dr. Bertha Flores). These grant funded programs involve the implementation of hepatitis C screening and linkage to treatment in rural primary care clinics and HPV vaccination and education in rural Federally Qualified Health Centers. This role will involve coordinating learning experiences in treatment tailoring, addressing health disparities, and hands on experience in dissemination and implementation science methods.

Under general supervision, this individual will assist with research project tasks to include data collection and overseeing the day-to-day operations of these two research projects. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to problem-solve and work under pressure and demonstrate dependability and dedication within the team as well as self-initiative and motivation in a positive manner.


Job Duties:

1. Leads in planning, designing, and implementing research programs including scheduling clinic meetings and education sessions, obtaining research data, organizing data, researching electronic health records (EHR) and data entry in a research database.

2. Assists with the implementation and protocol compliance of research programs including patient screening, eligibility, coordination of required program protocols, assures maintenance of study records via REDCap and EHR systems.

3. Communicates with clinic staff and multiple units within UT Health San Antonio to obtain information and organize program protocols. Ensures compliance with all federal and local regulations.

4. Works closely with study team to help prepare and coordinate meeting materials for face-to-face and teleconference meetings with study team, conduct literature reviews, develop, and submit documentation for IRB review and provide updates to IRB as needed, assist with qualitative research activities including focus groups and interviews, and assist with preparing study related data for dissemination at conferences or through publication.

5. Educates clinical staff of program protocols, assuring protocol documents are current and available for clinic staff to review. Assists with program maintenance activities such as reviewing screening logs, REDCap data updates, preparation of grant reports to be submitted to funding agencies.

6. Performs all other duties as assigned.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in a specialized field of study is required.
Master's degree is preferred.


Experience:

Six (6) years of experience is required. Applicants with experience working in primary care settings, working with EHRs or who are bilingual in Spanish and English are encouraged to apply.
