Duties and Responsibilities:
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Molecular Pharmacology Research Assistant we seek is a person with these qualifications.
- Perform in vitro pharmacological experiments independently or as a part of team.
- Conduct high-throughput screening assays using fluorescent-based plate kinetic readers in support of characterizing GPCR-targeted small molecule drugs.
- Conduct high-throughput TR-FRET screening assays in support of developing selective kinase inhibitors.
- Maintain mammalian cell lines used in the screening assays.
- Develop stable cell lines specific to new target proteins.
- Prepare DNA/RNA and Protein samples and analyze in routine molecular biology assay.
- Operate multi forms of liquid handling equipment, and automation units.
- Understand and follow pharmacological assay protocols applicable to assigned tasks.
- Analyze data to determine the efficacy and potency of the compounds using data analysis software.
- Maintains accurate databases and experimental notebooks of results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related field of study is necessary.
- 1-2 years’ experience with a minimum of 1 year of mammalian cell culture experience is necessary.
- Hands-on experience of plasmid preparation, transfection, and Western Blotting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good documentation practices with excellent organization and attention to detail
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary, matrixed environment.
