The Electronics Reliability Engineer's primary duties are to apply analytical and engineering skills to ensure reliability and robustness targets are met in our disruptive designs that push the electronics to their limits. The Electronics Reliability Engineer will work closely with platform & product development teams and report to the Principal Electronics Reliability Engineer. This position requires excellent cross-functional communication skills and the ability to identify, assess, analyze, and present information to help launch new and exciting solutions that meet user needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify, assess, and analyze electronics for functionality, performance, & reliability risks in new disruptive product designs in the platform and new product development space.
  • Identify opportunities for applying new reliability best practices, mentor engineers on new ways to approach reliability, and document successes.
  • Develop new analysis methods, test processes and procedures for electronics reliability.
  • Use test data to build component characterization and stress-life reliability models.
  • Analyze field data to identify potential electronics problems and develop tests/design guidelines to identify and avoid future issues.
  • Participate in the creation of training material and tools to support probabilistic design approaches for electronics reliability.
Job Requirements:
  • 1+ years of experience in new product development
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or educational equivalent
  • Undergraduate statistics course
  • Experience with MATLAB, Microsoft Excel or other data analysis software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience and comfort working with high voltage and current.
  • Experience working with materials and semiconductors.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time is required (travel includes Domestic and International)
Preferred Requirements:
  • Previous experience developing embedded power electronics/motor drive products.
  • Previous experience or coursework in Design of Experiments, life data analysis, and other related statistical tools and software (i.e. Minitab, Reliasoft)
  • The ability and desire to achieve ASQ Reliability Engineering Certification (ASQ-CRE)
  • Basic programming skills.
