REGISTERED NURSE - INPATIENT/PEDS DEPARTMENT

Registered Nurse Pediatrics – IHS Crownpoint

Place of Performance: Crownpoint Healthcare Facility Hwy Junction 57, Rt9, Crownpoint, NM 87313

Contract Length: 13-26-52 Week Contracts

Shift Expectations: 12 hour shifts

Qualifications:

● The Contractor shall have a minimum of thirty-six (36) months of experience – Preferred.

● Certificate of Completion/Diploma from an accredited nurse program

● Current, valid, unrestricted state or federal nursing license from ANY State

● Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory for all specialties. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Newborn Life Support (NLS),

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

● The Contractor shall perform nursing duties and manage the patient's needs as described in the attached position Description (PD) - identified by the Service Unit and as directed by the Supervisory Nurse.

● The Contractor shall perform in accordance with the competency standards listed in Exhibits , paragraph The contractor shall provide professional nursing service in direct patient care as follows. (a) Contractor shall provide a full range of inpatient Peds services to adult and pediatric patients in the inpatient Peds Department

● Contractor shall exercise knowledge of scientific and psychosocial nursing theory, principles, practices and techniques in order to plan and provide quality nursing pare which meets the physical, spiritual, and social-cultural needs of the lndian patient.

● Contractor shall exercise knowledge of biological aspects of disease processes and illness in order to recognize complications and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions required.

● Contractor shall exercise knowledge of the medications and dosages in order to recognize their desired effects, side-effects, and complications of their use.

● Contractor shall analyze the results of various medical procedures and translate them into appropriate nursing interventions.

● Contractor shall work effectively and harmoniously within the healthcare team and with lndian patients and their families.

● The provider is responsible for utilizing the EHR/RPII/IS system to obtain pertinent patient information in assisting care. lt is the responsibility of the provider to use the training resources provided to develop competency in utilizing the Electronic Health Record system/RPMs. (j) Follows facility policies and procedures, The Joint Commission (TJC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), lndian Health Services (lHS) and other federal licensing, accreditation and regulating body standards.

About Crownpoint:

The Crownpoint Health Care Facility serves a population of 20,000 Navajo people. The staff consists of primary care physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, at a 20 bed hospital. FY20 showed a daily inpatient load of 4, outpatient visits was 129,239; annual OB visits at 717, and the annual emergency room cases number of about 14,643.

Physicians find they have ample opportunities to practice all the skills they trained for in residency, in multi-speciality, but non-departmental settings with continuous back up from colleagues and excellent

nursing support in all areas of the hospital. There are no major surgeries performed on-site. However, based on training, our physicians perform a full spectrum of outpatient invasive and non-invasive procedures.

Crownpoint is located in Northwest New Mexico, on the Eastern edge of the Navajo Reservation, only a few hours drive North to the Southern Rockies, or East to Albuquerque and Santa Fe. World Class skiing is close and the area has superb hiking and fishing opportunities
