Lexington Center for Recovery is seeking Full-Time Registered Nurse for our Southern Dutchess Location.

Registered Nurse Position Summary:

• Provide medical oversight to clients participating in a program of recovery
• Provide support to Nursing Supervisor by executing duties within medical compliance to regulatory standards
• May serve as “charge nurse” in absence of nursing supervisor

Registered Nurse Position Responsibilities:

• Conduct medical assessments of clients (and their children as applicable) for preventative measures and towards making recommendations to other health providers as needed
• Assist clients with arranging physical examination appointments as needed to ensure optimum health
• provide oversight and guidance to staff attending to any medically involved clients
• Record medical data and observation reports in the client charts routinely
• Witness observed urine screens’ as necessary
• Facilitate meetings of health groups as applicable for clients in recovery towards enhancing their self-awareness and self-determination
• Maintain thorough documentation/records of medical issues, psychiatric issues, meetings, case conferences and client specifics as required by DSS, OASAS and internal policies and procedures and ensure related follow-up as needed
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies as needed per program definition
• Participate in ongoing supervision, staff meetings and training
• Facilitate medical training as needed
• Respond to and assess medical emergencies as they arise

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse licensure required.
• Two years prior experience working in a health-related facility.
• Prior experience working in the field of alcohol/substance abuse treatment preferred.
• Prior counseling or teaching experience is required preferred.
