Lead seed sales and marketing activities within the assigned territory while developing and managing relationships with the identified farming entities by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meet Quarterly with Heartland Management Team and Seed Partners to further break down the above marketing plan to meet the challenges and opportunities in regard to pricing, products, and services offered.

• Identify and develop relationships with prospective key farming entities in the assigned territory.

• Coordinates interaction with all Heartland Co-op resources to assist the farming entities with sales & customer service offerings from Heartland Co-op that support Heartland Co-op’s seed lines.

• Provide recommendations and education to the identified farming entities that show the enhanced profit and efficiency opportunities that come thru the interaction of Seed Genetics with Precision Ag, Nutritionals, CPP, Fertilizers, and the environment.

• Ability to create and present interesting, informative, and educational product presentations.

• Recommend and sell products and services to the identified farming entities within the company credit and pricing policies.

• Supervise assigned subordinates, if applicable.

• Ability to work independently.

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.

• Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture with strong agronomy background; three to five years related sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as product labels, technical reports, and simple contracts.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheet, and word processing software.

Certificates and Licenses:

Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). If not current should be working toward completion.

Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May be assigned supervisory responsibility. Must be able to manage subordinates, administer performance reviews, and other supervisory responsibilities.
