This position is responsible for the sale of the organization's products to handle the Missippi River to the Pacific Ocean areas and provides ongoing support to product distribution channel. Candidates must live within the region.

Manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals within a region. Manages multiple districts within a region and adjusts sales goals and procedures as appropriate for each district. Designs and recommends sales programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the region's sales volume. Collects relevant competitors' market information to increase sales volume and market share. Responsible for recommending product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Typically requires 10+ years of managerial experience.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain customer relationships and develop new customers through cold calls and prospecting, timely communications, visits to customer sites (with or without broker) and distributing product sales information.
  • Requires 50 - 70% travel to client sites, at times with broker representatives

  • Participate in weekly sales department meetings to provide customer feedback
  • Provide pertinent / necessary information to multiple/appropriate departments compiled from on-road activity
  • Produce bi-weekly reports which highlights activity, contacts, mileage, etc.
  • Introduce, define, expand and consistently maintain the existence of the Pleasant View and Proven Winners brand in the marketplace.
  • Perform on-site merchandising setup at customer site
  • Conduct onsite “Proven Winners” Certified Garden Center training.
  • Provides direction in liner sales planning and accountable for implementation of sales plan
  • Evaluates new market opportunities
  • Participates in new product development in conjunction with Sales and Marketing departments
  • Generation and management of a consistent flow of sales leads for ECS
  • Managing the sales cycle from lead generation to booking for a predetermined set of clients and services
  • Creation and execution of marketing campaigns aligned with the go to market strategy
  • Communication with prospects that are generated through marketing campaigns and external lead sources through qualification and/or sales closure
  • Researching companies and networking internally and externally to identify new prospect leads
  • Collaboration with the pursuit team to develop and execute pursuit plans for qualified leads
  • Support the pursuit team through the proposal development stage by helping to coordinate internal and client meetings, action items, and presentation content
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of sales and marketing materials
  • Maintenance of all sales, marketing and pipeline management tools to ensure client and opportunity data is current and accurate
  • Support field marketing efforts such as trade-shows, exhibits and events
  • Active participation in all required training and development needs
  • Call on targeted audiences across multiple states to effectively promote and educate our pharmacy services and products through one-on-one meetings and presentations, professional education programs, cold calling, and email marketing.
  • Execute multi-state territory plan, and support customers using company resources.
  • Establish relationships through networking groups, targeting the senior community.
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly sales goals.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in a CRM software which tracks productivity.
  • Assists resellers with organizational skills, account strategies, territory planning and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets.
  • Becomes actively involved in a new reseller’s sales orientation and sales training programs.
  • Acts as a resource to resellers in contract opportunities and proposals.
  • Assists resellers with contract negotiations, closing the sale and developing marketing plans for contract accounts.
  • Assists with the planning of sales exhibits.
  • Attends trade shows.
  • Participates in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs.
  • Coordinates and assists in leading sales meetings to include site selection and agenda preparation.
  • Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers.
  • Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of attaining resellers and assisting resellers in attaining new accounts.
  • Troubleshoots problems regarding products provided.
  • Answers questions from resellers and handles complaints.
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years sales experience in Manufacturing.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and self-motivation skills required
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Effective negotiation skills required
  • Demonstrate ability to handle customer related issues which involves researching, investigating, determining appropriate resolution and follow-through in action and communication

  • 5-10 years of field sales experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3-5 years sales experience with verifiable track record sales growth
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Five plus years of sales experience with a manufacturing organization preferred.
