Sheakley is hiring a Reginal Safety Manager for our client in Manassas, VA. Our client is one of the nation's leading electrical companies.

Our Client is seeking regional safety management of Residential Electric Work - The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for the administration of multiple project safety programs within a designated region to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Responsibilities include the roll-out and implementation of Corporate Safety Programs. This position will answer to the Corporate Safety Director. Travel will be about 10 to 25%. The candidate would only have to travel up to Maryland for corporate meetings. The salary rate is $70k to $80k. Benefits, 3 health plans, family-owned, other ancillary benefits and 401(k),

Construction/electrical background. Ideally right out of school. Entry-level person, our client can mold and help grow.

A company vehicle will be provided for travel needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Audit jobsite safety reports, and implementation of safety elements at the jobsite
  • Conduct and follow up on accident/incident investigations, ensure appropriate corrective actions identified
  • Evaluate EH&S abilities to identify, and solve safety issues on the jobsite
  • Identify, document, and recommend resolution of potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made
  • Compile data, photographs, etc.; prepare all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, local regulations associated with accidents
  • Assist in conducting employee/craft and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. May accompany federal, state and insurance inspectors on walk through tours
  • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing and other duties will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety & Health or related field required
  • OSHA 500 Construction Certification
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification
  • 5+ years safety construction experience preferred, Electrical background is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures is essential
  • Thorough understanding of all federal, state and local regulations
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

TRAVEL:

  • 10 – 25 %

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment – sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor constructions jobsite settings. Environmental conditions will vary
  • Noise level varies based on location
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
