Referral Coordinator

Referral Coordinator Description:

Obtain pre-certification for all diagnostic tests

Schedule test with appropriate department

Print/gather any necessary paperwork for patient and/or department

Call patient and notify of test date and give any instructions necessary

Input appointment information into order management

Make sure patient has return appointment with physician to follow-up results of test.

Understands importance of excellent customer service and team work

Referral Coordinator Experience/Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required

CMA preferred

Pre-cert/Authorizations, insurance and scheduling experience referred

Medical Terminology knowledge preferred

Effective verbal and written communication for interaction with departments, families and physician offices required

Communication and public relation skills required

Computer Skills required
