What we offer:

  • Salary: $40,000-$44,000

Job Functions:

Operates the full-cycle recruitment process for staff level and AmeriCorps positions at Metropolitan Ministries, including client care staff, indirect care staff and VISTAS. Responsible for candidate identification, evaluation, and screening, as well as meeting recruitment metrics.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Proactively moves candidates through the recruitment process with a focus on candidate experience, reducing time to fill, and high-quality selection.
  • Completes pre-screening interviews with selected candidates and provides detailed feedback on candidate on the 4C report to hiring managers.
  • Responsible for coordinating with VISTA Leader regarding recruitment efforts of AmeriCorps VISTA and their recruitment sources.
  • Provides updates and reports to the Associate Director of Talent Management and Leadership Team members as requested.
  • Conducts pre-employment background checks, including drug screening.
  • Schedules orientation and assists with preparation of orientation packets.
  • Builds a network of referral sources, representing Metropolitan Ministries at job fairs and community events.
  • Utilizes cost-efficient posting and recruitment methods to best steward resources.
  • Utilizes the Employee Referral Program.
  • Ensures compliance applicable state and federal laws.
  • Supports the Holiday Center and team in other tasks as assigned.
  • Meets personal goals and actively contributes to the achievement of team and organization targets/goals as measured by Key Performance Indicators.
Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Liberal Arts preferred with at least 1 years’ experience in Recruiting or Human Resources, or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skill Requirements:

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based research tools. Ability to effectively use computer equipment: monitor, keyboard, mouse and other computer-related peripherals. Self-motivated, ability to multi-task/manage many projects simultaneously, and shift priorities as needed. Must be able to work independently and also be a team player. Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.

Requires heart for ministry and comfort working with poor and homeless families and individuals. Requires understanding of poverty, a high degree of maturity, strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work with low socio-economic and diverse populations facing crisis situations in a professional and diplomatic manner. Knowledge of community resources available to homeless population. Must demonstrate maturity and sensitivity to issues of faith, culture, and other sources of diversity. Ability to work as part of a team within a multi-disciplinary framework.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time. Ability to walk and climb stairs and to lift 20 lbs. Physically able to work in outdoor/temporary shelter environment considering the local climate and its normal fluctuations. Physical, emotional and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress.

Other:

Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
