We are looking for summer year-round positions to fill shifts at all of the Broomfield Recreation facilities. Schedules are issued on a monthly basis. These are temporary positions that will generally work less than 25 hours/week and are not eligible for health insurance or paid time off.

Hiring Range: $15.58 - $18.33/hour
Salary Range:$15.58 - $21.08/hour

Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties

  • Acts as liaison to the public greeting and directing individuals to proper locations, providing information, facilitating registrations, collecting fees, checking in guests and participants, selling membership passes, and in general, assisting the public with a variety of tasks.

  • Clerk works as an advocate to communicate program information, fees and processes and follows through with staff or customers as necessary.

  • Assists in the maintenance of various records such as inventory, activity reports, receipts, memberships, and customer accounts.

  • Operates cash register, computer, and other standard office equipment. Handles monetary transactions including daily admissions, memberships, punch cards, program registrations, pro shop sales, etc.

  • Creates, sorts and files various types of correspondence, materials, and documents.

  • May assist visitors or staff in emergency situations.

  • Observes, follows and enforces established policies and procedures in the daily conduct of the job.

  • Plans and prioritizes daily duties to complete scheduled assigned work within parameters assigned by the supervisor.

  • Delivers work product and services with responsiveness, courtesy and tact in personal interactions with customers and staff.

  • Makes various appointments in Recreation software, assist patrons with navigating online registration system and reconciles financial paperwork at end of each shift.

  • Types, prints and mails routine correspondence, forms, reports, checks, and other materials.

  • Processes forms, reports, correspondence, and other material according to well-defined methods and procedures; refers questionable materials to supervisor or higher-level workers for processing.

  • Fills in data on standard office forms; makes basic postings to various records; compiles simple tabulated data, verifying simple mathematical computations and prepares routine reports; may run rosters, schedules, or daily cash journal reports or daily facility schedules.

  • Accesses basic information within the Recreation Software Database including activity reports, receipts, accounting records, including purchase history of passes, membership scanning, billing records, registrations, and other reports and materials.

  • Operates a personal computer to access email and Recreation software.

  • Uses computer to process registrations, memberships and cash transactions, verification of residency and issue ID Cards.

Minimum Qualifications

Training - Completion of the 10th grade. Course work in typing, office practices, computers or related topics.

Experience- Three months customer service experience working in an office environment. Experience working at a recreation center or other high customer activity facility preferred. Previous cash handling experience preferred.

Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the Necessary Applicant Traits.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be at least 16 years of age. New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: skills test, oral board, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry.

Working Conditions

The noise level in the environment is moderate but can be quite loud on high traffic volume days. The worker may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Work is generally scheduled Sunday through Saturday including daytime and evening hours and some holidays. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms Physical demands are described as sedentary (exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting and standing most of the time, but may involve walking for brief periods of time). Data entry and other tasks may require sitting at a computer for several hours. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision.
