ParadigmWorks Group Inc. is currently seeking an energetic, people-oriented Recreation Assistant to join our dynamic team in Milwaukee, WI.

THIS POSITION IS 2ND SHIFT AND INCLUDES WEEKENDS

Job Summary:
Reports to the Recreation Manager. Directly supervises students in Recreation and provide a structured, well-rounded recreation program at the Milwaukee Job Corps Center in accordance with U.S. Department of Labor, ParadigmWorks corporate and project management directives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The professional we seek will plan, coordinate, and supervise the administrative and programmatic activities of the recreation department at a residential academic and technical training program. In addition to planning and coordinating activities, the Recreation Specialist will also perform the following:

• Instruct students in specific on-and off-center recreation activities.
• Counsels and motivates students regarding behavior, training, personal, and/or work habits and problems.
• Oversees a variety of well-planned recreation/avocation activities including arts and crafts, water safety programs, individual and team sports, special interest programs, and others.
• Develop and distribute weekly, monthly, and annual recreation/vocational plans and schedules of activities.
• Model, mentor, and monitor the positive normative culture of the center.
• Act as a responsible custodian for assigned center property.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in recreation, physical education, teacher certification, or related field and one year of related experience.
• Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.
• Must possess current CPR, first aid, and water safety certifications.
• Must have a valid Driver's License with no major moving violations in the past 39 months. Must possess or be eligible to obtain Valid chauffer’s license in the center’s state.

• Able to coordinate and collaborate with a diverse community and population.
• Computer, telecommunications, and virtual technology skills.
• Undergo a background investigation and drug screen with favorable results.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
