Location: Berwick, PA

Wise Foods Inc. is currently seeking a Receiving Manager. The Receiving Manager schedules and overseeing the Receiving department operating three shifts. You will maintain the inventory of all raw materials, except potatoes, used in the manufacturing of all snacks produced by Wise at the Berwick location. You will also order raw materials based on current inventories, average usages, and integrate sales forecasting.

In Addition:

• Responsibility for three shifts of operation, seven days a week as required. (Wise facilities and Co-Packers)
• Manages all raw materials required by Co-Packers, Issues P.O.'s, manages vendor's communications and transportation.
• Forecasts, issues P.O.'s, receives and edits all ingredients and packaging requirements. An annual spend of $56,000,000.
• Attends and is part of the Berwick, PA leadership team. Meets with other members daily to identify changes or updated requirements, allowing operations to avoid missed production or customer orders.

Areas of Responsibility:

Staffing

• Maintain departmental headcount requirements to accomplish daily operational tasks
• Assign overtime as needed based on staffing and workload
• Hire and fire employees as necessary to maintain proper staffing levels
• Administer disciplinary actions for attendance, job performance issues, and resolve union contractual grievances in compliance with the contract language
• Track and report safety issues/accidents, determining root cause analysis and determine preventive measures and/or re-training of job performance to mitigate future accidents

Inventory Management

• Order and maintain inventories of raw materials including; cellophane, major ingredients, minor ingredients, corrugated cartons, trays, etc. and cooking oils
• Track current raw material inventories
• Account for open raw material purchase orders and lead times
• Determine average weekly usage of all raw materials to include adjustments needed to address sales promotions and forecasts
• Place order for raw materials with enough lead time to receive item from the vendor, without running out of on hand materials before delivery/ or pick up is made

Receiving and Storing of Raw Materials

• Document that all raw materials, ensuring we have vendor Certificate Of Analysis proving ingredient purity allowing it to be used in the production of finished products
• Determine that raw materials arrive undamaged and at purchased quantities
• Unload and store all raw materials away from pest and the elements, as needed to maintain quality
• Store raw materials by allergen as needed minimizing the chance of any cross contamination.
• Rotate inventory by using first in first out method

Plant Operational Support

• Supply production on a shift-by-shift basis with cartons, cellophane, cooking oil, Seasonings, and other raw materials that they need in order to meet the schedules production runs

Manage the Returnable Carton Project

• Unload returnable cartons from Wise trailer verifying customer return counts
• Record and maintain a log of cartons counts unloaded, by vendor so customers receive the correct amount of credit for carton returns
• Sort usable cartons by size and discard unusable cartons to ensure only quality cartons are sent to production for use
• Record and store the usable cartons, in a clean environment, making sure they meet proper food production practices
• Bale and discard unusable corrugate through recycler tracking scrap corrugate pickups to verify Wise receives the appropriate amount credit back from the vendor

Education and Experience:

Required:

• Associate degree in business management
• Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Basic knowledge of JD Edwards software
• Experience with collaborating with both internal and external clients regularly

Preferred:

• Over five (5) years' experience supervising at least 5 people in a unionized manufacturing facility
• Experience maintaining food industry grade machinery
• Bi-lingual Spanish
