Job Summary:

The Raw Materials Material Handler is responsible for the timely movement of all materials within a designated location. This position is also responsible for tracking movement of materials within the computerized systems to ensure proper inventory availability. This position is on our A shift (Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday).

Hiring Bonus:

• $1,000 total, paid out in two separate installments
• $500 paid out after 90 days and $500 paid out after 180 days
• Must be employed at the time of payout

Position Responsibilities:

• Operate a forklift to move raw materials, packaging, finished product and other materials from one location to another.
• Use a computer and company systems to track all material movement transactions, both incoming and outgoing.
• Observe all GMP, Food Safety, and Employee Safety requirements.
• Load/unload 53 foot trailers with a lift truck indoors and outdoors
• Shipping and receiving of products and materials
• Log incoming material and outgoing pallets into computer system
• Recognize shortages of materials in the system and order materials for next shift
• Staging and preparation of raw materials for use in operations.
• Follow detailed processes for assigned work to ensure proper completion.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for an entire shift (8-12 hours)

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

• Must be able to get on and off of a forklift in a safe manner multiple times per shift

• Must be able to tolerate climate changes due to working in various temperatures indoors and outdoors.

Education:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent

• Technical / Trade School preferred

Experience:

• Prior forklift/material handling experience in a manufacturing environment

• Prior experience working in the food industry is preferred

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

• Ability to plan work and anticipate problems

• Computer skills (data entry & experience with an ERP system in a production environment preferred)

• Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures (must be able to take/record measurements and understand tare weight)
