STV currently has an opening in our New York, NY office for a Rail/Transit Design Project Manager with experience in Communications, Electrical, and Systems, in our Transportation and Infrastructure division.

The Design Project Manager will manage Communications, Electrical, and Systems Rail/Transit projects and be responsible for planning, scope development, design management, and design services during construction for all assigned projects. Candidate will work independently with multi-discipline A&E disciplines. The Design PM will be responsible to manage all major activities, oversee project deliverables and allocate personnel resources.

In the role of Design Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

• Take responsibility for all aspects of client and design-team management of commuter railroad, freight, and transit design projects and planning studies
• Provide support in design project pursuits, including the development of proposals and presentations to clients.
• Manage the development of plans, drawings, specifications for a complete design (Design-Bid-Build projects) and manage the development of bridging documents, including preliminary drawings and Project Requirements & Design Criteria (PRDC) (Design-Build projects) in accordance with contract requirements, applicable client standards and codes
• Translate PRDC language into complete designs, and support or lead Design-Build projects.
• Oversee all quality and safety activities on your projects
• Support cost estimators in the development of construction cost estimates
• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity
• Strong project management skills and experience managing multi-discipline teams as well as interfacing successfully with clients.
• Be able to plan, organize and supervise work of multi-discipline teams of professionals and technicians for medium to large projects, and be able to monitor scope and negotiate design-phase change orders
• Serve as a point of contact between the client and STV

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or satisfactory equivalent
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Communications, Electrical, and Systems engineering and managing complex multidisciplinary transit/rail projects, including at least five (5) years of managerial/supervisory experience
• NY PE License is required
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team on Communications, Electrical, and Systems transit/rail projects
