Job description

The following job specific requirements should discuss the essential duties and responsibilities required of the position. They should not replicate those duties and responsibilities discussed above. 1. Reviews and completes radiology requisition and physician order on chart. Collect and ensure previous pertinent exams are available for Radiologist's review. Identifies patient and test for accuracy. Processes and reviews quality of images. 2. Instructs patient on procedures. Positions patient and, if necessary, restrains mobility through use of immobilization devices. Performs venous punctures for injection of contrast media, monitors patient for reaction and/or complications, prepares barium compounds. 3. Determines exposure factors; adjusts exposure factors and operates equipment according to established procedures to obtain diagnostic radiographs. Ensures that safety devices such as shielding, lead aprons and gloves are utilized properly during procedures. 4. Completes imaging and sends to Radiologist via computer. May perform all aspects of image record management. Communicates unusual occurrences to supervisor and documents appropriately. Communicates wet/stat reading results to referring physician office. Communicating results/instructions from referring physician. 5. Observes established safety precautions, both Federal and according to Hospital policy. 6. Reports need for equipment adjustment or repair to Coordinator and/or Manager of Diagnostic Radiology. Cleans and organizes work area to ensure that proper supplies required for procedures are available. 7. Assists on a technical level with procedures of an invasive nature. Assists with evaluation and supervisor of student radiographers in a clinical environment. May assume responsibility as requested. Salary: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
