Nura Pain Clinic is a large multidisciplinary interventional pain practice. We specialize in implantable pain control and are considered a national center of excellence for both neurostimulation and targeted spinal drug delivery. We offer all evidenced-based pain procedures including spinal injections, nerve ablations, neurostimulation trials, pain pump trials and surgical implants of both pumps and stimulators.

Nura currently has an excellent career opportunity for a Radiologic Technologist in our newly renovated Edina location! This position is to perform technical skills with the use of the C-arm to demonstrate portions of the human body on x-ray film or fluoroscopic screen for diagnostic purposes, while demonstrating diagnostic quality control. Performs any other duties deemed necessary to insure optimal patient care and physician service.

Essential Functions:

1. Position patient on examining table; set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.

2. Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians. Make exposures necessary for the requested procedures, rejecting and repeating work that does not meet established standards.

3. Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff.

4. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation. Participates and maintains safety and dignity of patient at all times.

5. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Provider, provides skilled nursing care; implemented using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.

6. Observe and document patients’ medical and educational needs to assist in patient assessment and care.

7. Actively participates in timeouts by confirming patient identification, correct procedure, side/site, etc.

8. Completes and maintains appropriate radiation training and competencies. Assists in monitoring radiation methods that expose all staff to the least amount of exposure.

9. Assists in maintaining radiological equipment and proper badge usage and storage. Troubleshoots problems with the C-arm. Maintains proper use of x-ray equipment including lead aprons.

10. Documents fluoroscopy usage and correct storage and printing of images as determined by site. Follows principles of aseptic technique in performing duties.

11. Effectively communicates with all providers and staff members.

12. Work in the pre-op area which includes rooming the patient, collecting vital signs and medical information, going over discharge instructions, collecting lab samples as needed (i.e. blood glucose, INR), and signatures on documents.

13. Will be trained in the process of sterilization of surgical instruments.

14. Learn the role of the scrub, which will draw sterile trays for procedures and assist with the surgical scrub tech with surgeries.

15. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

1. Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program, or certification in MN if done before 2008.

2. Previous related experience preferred.

3. Strong organizational, judgment, communication and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure.

4. Ability to multi-task and perform multiple priorities.

5. Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.

6. Ability to promote favorable facility image with patients, providers, insurance companies and general public.

7. Ability to independently make decisions and solve problems.

8. Evidence of leadership qualities.

9. The ability to contribute in a team environment and/or independently, to provide excellent customer service.

10. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Licenses & Certifications:

1. Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist from an accredited RT program

2. Before 2008, successful completion of a X-Ray Operators exam in MN.

3. BLS certified or obtain certification within three months of hire
