Supplier Quality Engineer

Renegade Materials Corporation, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Teijin Holdings USA Incorporated. Our rapidly growing prepreg manufacturing business is dedicated to commercializing the next generation of advanced materials for the composites industry. The company is located in Miamisburg, Ohio.

The Supplier Quality Engineer position will complement Site Operations in Supplier-related activities by acting as the key liaison between operations, suppliers, and the customer, ensuring that overall specifications, quality/regulatory requirements, and expectations are met for all purchased product. The successful candidate will have well-rounded experience in Quality Management Systems, all aspects of Supplier Quality, and a background in composite materials.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the Approved Supplier List, including alternate supplier selections, risk assessment, qualification, and approval
• Reviewing manufacturing specifications to identify materials needed for production
• Researching, sourcing, and assessing the best vendors to supply the necessary materials
• Manage SCARs or non-conformities, including their issue to suppliers & driving to closure
• Develop / conduct / lead supplier onsite audits to ensure, identify deficiencies in their QMS, track and ensure timely closure of non-conformances
• Supplier Performance Management & Development, including metric reporting and support
• Provide technical support by troubleshooting, conducting root cause testing, and resolving problematic materials through all phases of operations.
• Ensure immediate escalation, internal and / or at supplier in case of emergencies / excursions that impact production
• Develop and improve material inspection/receiving processes
• Participate in customer-facing supplier quality activities
• Occasional travel to supplier sites required
• Responsible for providing engineering support for all applicable areas of Quality Assurance and the Quality Management System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in chemical/materials or mechanical engineering, chemistry, or related fields
• Three years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing or testing environment
• Understanding of textile and/or chemical manufacturing processes
• Work experience in an AS9100 and/or NADCAP accredited manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with AS13100 a plus
• Good working knowledge of quality control standards
• Ability to assemble & clean data, create, analyze & interpret control charts
• Excellent understanding of statistical analysis, Minitab or similar statistical packages a plus
• Experience identifying quality issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Fluency in the English Language – written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate observations
• Ability to work with an interdependent team & plan ahead for daily tasks
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.
