Quality Control Technician III

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining the laboratory areas in conformance with regulations and standards. This includes performing all laboratory cleaning, environmental monitoring as well as utilities sampling and testing.
ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

- Responsible for maintaining work areas and performing job functions in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Batch Record instructions.
- Responsible for completing all training requirements and maintaining 100% compliance with all assignments.
- Responsible for performing sampling of water system points of use (POU) following guidelines and maps.
- Performs water receiving logs into LIMS system.
- Perform TOC and conductivity tests on the water samples.
- Sample Raw Materials following gowning requirements and written instruction from sampling plan.
- Perform Environmental Monitoring sampling by following sampling points and locations.
- Clean QC Laboratory Glassware
- Perform general housekeeping for the QC Lab.
- Performs balance calibration along with calibrating and operating the pH meter.
- Support the QC Lab with Biohazard waste disposal following written instructions.
- Maintain the Laboratory material and reagents inventory.
- Ability to train and qualify in aseptic gowning techniques, as well as, perform all required tasks in an aseptic environment while wearing sterile gowns.
- Maintains accurate records and logs in accordance with FDA (Food and Drug Administration), GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ISO9000 (International Organization for Standardization).
- Responsible for performing additional related duties as assigned.

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.
Education/Certification/Experience:
Requires a high school diploma and 4 years relevant progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry; or an Associate of Science degree or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years relevant progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Must be able to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams, and follow testing and inspection procedures.
- Must be able to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and logs and use calibration equipment and machine operations.
- Must be able to focus continuous attention to detail operations requiring some diversification approach to fairly routine processes.
- Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of a Windows environment is required.
- Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets) are required.
- Basic General Chemistry concepts (pH, Temperature, units of mass and volume, etc.)
- Mechanical aptitude is required and used to sample water systems, identification of problems, and correcting problems.
