WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING


Quality Control Technicians (QC for short) ensure our products meet our safety, quality, and customer standards. QCs need to have strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
In partnership and collaboration with Packaging Supervisor and other employees, QC Technicians duties include:
  • Perform quality control functions in Shipping, Milling, or Packaging departments.
  • Maintain consistent quality standards on all incoming and outgoing product
  • Perform various continuous Quality Control checks during production and on finished goods to ensure product quality and packaging meet required customer specifications and food safety guidelines.
  • Accurately and timely document Quality Control checks per required guidelines.
  • Communicate necessary information to Machine Operators, Leads, and/or Supervisors/Managers regarding product quality and packaging defects discovered during control checks.
  • Grade incoming product samples received by truck and rail.
  • Check weights on inbound rail cars and schedule and release rail cars as necessary.
  • Maintain required paperwork for incoming products.
  • Pull and ship outbound samples for customers.
  • Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Test and inspect products in appropriate departments (shipping, mill, packaging) at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Communicates variations in Housekeeping and National Food Safety standards to the Quality Control Supervisor as they occur.
  • Full understanding of Trinidad Benham SQF standards
  • Monitor and complete necessary documentation with grade and lot information
  • Ensure that all QC documentation is complete and accurate
  • Maintain daily mill log and communicate with operators of next item to clean (if applicable)
  • When necessary, performs cycle counts to make for proper stock rotation
  • Check product from packaging lines every hour and verify change-over schedules (if applicable)
  • Communicate with management and other maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
  • Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.

Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Control Supervisor.


WHAT WE NEED


MUST-HAVES:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
1+ years of QC experience preferred
NICE-TO-HAVES:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Work, Outlook)
QC experience in food manufacturing
