Job description
Responsibilities:
Quality Control Specialist investigates reports based on receiving or return of damaged or defective goods, warehouse assessment of parts, and vendor, manufacturer, or certification body alerts.
- Accepts or rejects inspected parts; conducts tests based on quality standards
- Documents inspection and test results and reports management and other applicable departments
- Discontinues sales of an unacceptable or decertified part by a manufacturer
- Segregate nonconforming parts that fail to meet specifications
- Processes evaluation and claims regarding unacceptable parts or packaging with vendor or manufacturer, including overseeing scrapping or return of unacceptable parts to vendor or manufacturer
- Discusses inspection results of unacceptable parts with vendor, manufacturer, or certification body, cataloging unacceptable parts for re-work, evaluating problems, making initial recommendations for possible corrective action or adjustments to the process or assembly
- General knowledge of warehouse assessment, supply, and return operations
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, referencing technical materials, and familiarizing themselves with manufacturer, supplier, vendor, and certification body processes and materials
- Updates parts database and perform inventory maintenance by deducting damaged or defective items from inventory
- Accomplishes quality mission by completing related results as needed
Qualifications/Skills:
- Previous work experience in automotive field
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
