Job description

Responsibilities:

Quality Control Specialist investigates reports based on receiving or return of damaged or defective goods, warehouse assessment of parts, and vendor, manufacturer, or certification body alerts.

  • Accepts or rejects inspected parts; conducts tests based on quality standards
  • Documents inspection and test results and reports management and other applicable departments
  • Discontinues sales of an unacceptable or decertified part by a manufacturer
  • Segregate nonconforming parts that fail to meet specifications
  • Processes evaluation and claims regarding unacceptable parts or packaging with vendor or manufacturer, including overseeing scrapping or return of unacceptable parts to vendor or manufacturer
  • Discusses inspection results of unacceptable parts with vendor, manufacturer, or certification body, cataloging unacceptable parts for re-work, evaluating problems, making initial recommendations for possible corrective action or adjustments to the process or assembly
  • General knowledge of warehouse assessment, supply, and return operations
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, referencing technical materials, and familiarizing themselves with manufacturer, supplier, vendor, and certification body processes and materials
  • Updates parts database and perform inventory maintenance by deducting damaged or defective items from inventory
  • Accomplishes quality mission by completing related results as needed

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Previous work experience in automotive field
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
