SeKON has an opening for a Quality Assurance Tester to join our talented and innovative team supporting the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Due to COVID-19, this role will be 100% remote for the foreseeable future. The objective of the SAMHSA Web Content Management and Support contract is to provide enterprise-wide web content support related to the enhancement and maintenance of the consolidated SAMHSA.gov website, using the Drupal Content Management System, as well as for SAMHSA-related microsites, subsites, and subdomains that have not been fully migrated to SAMHSA.gov. This work encompasses content-related efforts for SAMHSA web initiatives including but not limited to Project Evolve and the SAMHSA Knowledge Network.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with project team and QA Lead to devise test objectives and strategies
  • Create/execute Selenium automated test scripts
  • Collaborate with project team and QA Lead to contribute in planning, estimating, and scheduling all test phases
  • Work with team and QA Lead to develop acceptance criteria for user stories
  • Verify that test environments and data is prepared for test execution
  • Perform test execution throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify quality issues and escalate as needed
  • Ensure that validated products meet functional requirements
  • Provide updates on testing status
  • Provide input on code release decisions based on test results
  • Gathers and documents requirements, providing expertise to anticipate and resolve potential issues with design
  • Prepares online documentation and updates
  • Assists with preparing test scenarios and scripts and leads user testing
  • Updates user documentation
  • Works with team lead and project manager to report project status, update project schedule, contribute to identifying and mitigating risks

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and confidence to participate in meetings with clients
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexibility in a collaborative team environment
  • Participation in Agile Scrum Ceremonies (Daily Standups/Sprint Planning/Sprint Retro)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members in a multi-vendor environment

DESIRED Skills:

  • MS Office Skills
  • Serve in a variety of ad hoc roles
  • Understanding, ability to learn and follow a Agile/Scrum Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience in a quality assurance/tester role
  • Experience with Drupal
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Slack, Confluence, JIRA etc.
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field
