Quality Assurance Technician

As a Quality Lab Technician in our animal feed manufacturing facility, you will focus on improving quality processes, sustaining our company quality, comply with FDA/EQMS (Enterprise Quality Management Systems)/Feed Safety programs and meet customer expectations to achieve consistent quality levels.

You will be responsible for accurate completion of tests, understand and follow lab and company safety, quality, and behavioral policies.

Perform a wide variety of duties to support operational needs. Job assignments may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Reviewing reject metal samples

  • Run and transmit finished product tests and data

  • Lab Daily Housekeeping tasks

  • Lab Safety Processes

  • Support Bulk Receiving Compliance

    • Support moisture testing

    • Support Charm Tests

    • Support bushel weight collection

  • PPE – requirements for in the Micro Lab and Drug Cage

  • Submission of credit requests for Rejected Finish Feed Bags, bad slip sheets, shrink wrap, etc.

  • cGMPs compliance

  • Lead continuous improvement projects

  • Assist with conducting quality audit for the site

  • Assist with training employees correctly filling out production documentation

  • Assist with certifying employees in quality portions of their jobs

  • Investigating daily hold feeds, liability cases and complaints and deciding dispositions

  • Assist with daily/monthly inventory

  • Working on corrective actions from EQMS audit

  • Knowing, participating, and assisting in conducting FQMS standards.

  • Assisting with drug samples

  • Assist with record verification and document/sample retention policies records

  • Manage tag inventories

  • Evaluate, test, and manage storage of finished product samples

  • Assist with export feed testing and samples

  • Assisting with tasks in the absence of QPS

  • Maintain good relationship with plant personnel contacts.

  • Other duties as assigned by plant quality management

  • Follow Company prescribed safety rules and regulations as well as other departmental policies and procedures including cGMP’s. Help to develop proper safety techniques.

  • Follow quality guidelines ensuring product is within specification in addition, housekeeping SOP’s will be followed.

  • Other duties as assigned by plant quality management

Experience-Education (Preferred):

  • High School diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 1+ year of relative experience in a laboratory and/or manufacturing environment

  • Able to perform required job functions and duties sufficiently with minimal supervision

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with high responsibilities

Competencies-Skills (Required):

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office: (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of E1 Catalyst, and Ariba highly desired.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

  • Skills in organization, prioritizing and attention to detail.

  • Laboratory testing

  • Able to interpret results of testing for accuracy, reasonableness, compliance with specifications, etc. and to perform simple problem-solving tasks and troubleshooting.
