The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for the effective implementation of the Quality Management System for Meat and Seafood production. The QA Manager will also be responsible for the ongoing review and modification of the system to ensure that all quality assurance programs meet applicable regulations and standards. The QA Manager will collaborate with organizational leadership in the establishment of quality assurance objectives. He/ She will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, HR , Safety and Purchasing to support all business needs.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, sustain, and improve Quality Systems to meet FDA, USDA, and regulatory agencies, while maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Day-to-day management and development of quality assurance programs and Procedures including site Meat HACCP, Seafood HACCP, and Sanitation Programs.
  • Investigate and follow up with customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
  • Assist and support Safety objectives and training requirements.
  • Adhere to industry quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure that all food safety and quality management records are being completed and verified including CCPs, pre-operational inspection, temperature records, receiving, shipping, etc.
  • Engage as needed with local, State and Federal Regulatorsto ensure ongoing compliance with federal regulations along with timely resolution of deficiencies.
  • Responsible for the ongoing review of the Quality management system to ensure that all quality assurance and food safety procedures meet applicable regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with customer’s auditors ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customer’s specifications.
  • Create and conduct a schedule of internal audits, track findings and ensure closure of corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain readiness for Third Party audits and prepare the facility (people and programs) for a potential GFSI level audit.

  • Execute environmental monitoring program as needed.
  • Schedule and deliver local site Food Safety, Food Defense, and Quality Management system training per schedule.
  • Collaboration with organizational leadership in the establishment of quality assurance objectives on an annual basis.
  • Ensure internal projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Support other facilities within the organization.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of food safety and quality assurance management.
  • Knowledge of USDA meat and poultry regulations, FDA regulations including preventive controls, GMP’s, food safety audits, creating and editing procedures and manufacturing food safety records. GFSI audit experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in wet sanitation and pre-operational monitoring procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent skills in managing and influencing other members of the Operations team.
  • Minimum local travel required.
  • Work independently with little supervision.
  • Overseeing Operations and Production on a daily basis to ensure Food Safety & Quality compliance
