Job Description

Our client, a leading seafood company, is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager with solid Quality experience. Specifically, we are seeking an individual who is able to handle the following responsibilities:

1) Contribute to the development and execution of product food safety and quality programs to support the organization’s goals of operational excellence, customer satisfaction, financial performance, market leadership and preferred employer

2) Develop the ongoing maintenance of the food safety plan

3) Identify deficiencies and implement new strategies

4) Ensure all HACCP, GMPs, sanitation preventive controls, supply chain preventive controls and all other prerequisite food safety standards are met according to USDA, FDA, FSIS, FSMA and corporate requirements

5) Manage allergen preventive controls program to ensure accurate allergen labeling on finished food products and prevention of allergen cross-contact

6) Manage the written recall program

7) Ensure complete traceability of incoming raw materials and finished products while managing lot code tracking

8) Ensure labeling programs are accurate in accordance with allergens, ingredients and nutritional information

9) Manage sanitation preventive control management components required in the food safety plan to ensure monitoring, corrections and verification

10) Lead environmental monitoring at the facility

11) Collaborate with the production management to resolve product quality and food safety issues

12) Manage live flavor checking and routine finished product evaluations and lead R&D on the new product request

13) Evaluate supplier and product conformance to standards and specifications and maintain and update product and ingredient master files

14) Lead and oversee all food safety and by-product audits conducted by government and third-party agencies

15) Respond to customer safety and quality concerns, as needed

16) Assume responsibility for a variety of assignments and projects

17) Work collaboratively and cooperatively with corporate QA staff on routine matters, e.g. complaint investigations, recalls, and special projects

18) Participate in team collaboration efforts to improve common workflows, procedures and tasks to increase efficiency and assure stakeholder satisfaction

19) Be responsible for the motivation, development, and leadership of the Quality Assurance Team

20) Track and manage product returns, hold processes, rework and aging inventory

21) Prepare samples for the Sales department

22) Provide vacation relief for the QA Leads and Supervisor

23) Assist with incoming inspection and documentation

24) Review and approve HACCP documents

25) Collect swabs and samples for micro testing

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the seafood industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in quality assurance management
