PRIMARY PURPOSE

As a Quality Ambassador, you will support and embrace our focus on quality by coaching and mentoring characteristics of good handling practices for product within the distribution center, including but not limited to: selection, forklift operations, loading, unload/receiving, and clerical. In this role, you will be crucial in helping create a culture that is conducive to delivering the best quality product to our retail locations and customers. You will work collaboratively with DC Leadership Teams, Quality Assurance, and the hourly associates in a non-supervisory role to educate and create awareness of actions that contribute to delivering better quality loads.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create an atmosphere in which associates are engaged and fully educated on quality first processes.
  • Monitor and review all Shipping/Receiving Processes including product handling, pallet integrity, loading of product, slotting, and trailer temperature accuracy.
  • Coordinate and provide feedback sessions with Distribution, Transportation, Category and Retail based on need regarding issues related to quality.
  • Act as a liaison between Distribution Leadership, Quality Assurance Team, and hourly associates and work collaboratively with to identify areas of opportunity or quality risks.
  • Coach and mentor to provide positive reinforcement and recognition to help promote behaviors that are necessary to improving and ensuring quality
  • Work collaboratively and communicate with other Quality Ambassadors in the network to share successes, opportunities, and tools that have been beneficial to the improvement of quality of product.
  • Create connections with the Distribution Center and Retail through retail visits with Quality Assurance that will help identify opportunities that may exist and require corrective action or improvement.
  • Provide opportunities for associate engagement by getting associates involved in improvements, corrective actions, and providing feedback to improve quality throughout warehouse.
  • Complete and provide detailed report outs on findings from observations and interactions with associates. This information is shared and utilized by DC Leadership to reinforce expectations with all associates.
  • Provide appropriate shift cover for week through effective scheduling to ensure associates are provided with the support and resources needed to sustain the culture of quality.
  • Be responsible for maintaining proper inventory of all re-boxing/re-bagging materials and submit the proper requests for re-stocking.
  • Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting work group or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs
  • Ensure compliance with company standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with/experience in a distribution environment
  • Excellent customer service, communication, verbal and written skills
  • Able to use time management skills to make decisions in order to accomplish most important tasks based on available talent
  • Understand effective training techniques that focus on associate engagement and the impact of positive reinforcement
  • Demonstrate effective and successful leadership skills through coaching with associates
  • Have passion and energy around motivating others to meet expectations and maintain a positive attitude
  • Able to meet production standards set by the company
  • Able to read and interpret maintenance related information such as blue prints, diagrams, formulas etc.
  • Able to perform and coach/teach all listed responsibilities without support of supervision
  • Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties
  • Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to and including 60 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (i.e. cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks)
  • Able to use required tools
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Education
  • Certified on pallet jack, stand-up and sit-down forklifts
  • Knowledge of produce and meat specifications
