MARS is searching for our newest team member to aide in facility compliance and client advocacy. This position provides support to our ARF's (Adult Residential Facility), EBSH's (Enhanced Behavioral Support Home), and CCH's (Community Crisis Home). Working directly with the Supervisor, Facility Administrators, and Support Staff.

The position is a dynamic, yet focused, high-value role delivering support related to planning, coordinating, training, and monitoring both IBSP and IPP objectives. This individual will be responsible for all necessary activities to ensure successful implementation of a person-centered IBSP and the approaches essential to successfully apply the plan. Due to the nature of the role, any potential candidate must be able to utilize and effectively employ the required technical knowledge of the psycho/social characteristics of intellectual disabilities in assisting the Administrator to:

  • Aid in systematically recording accurate data and report findings to the House Manager to take effective action either through immediate intervention or the IBST/IBSP;
  • Prepare concise reports on individual behavior, progress, and develop additional recommendations with the input of staff, medical practitioners, and other available resources;
  • Closely monitor the individual’s activities to ensure that the IBSP developed by the IBST is being implemented;
  • Work with the team to achieve maximum potential toward person-centered thinking and self-advocacy;
  • Advocates on behalf of the individual; and
  • Conduct on-site visits to monitor progress of the entire plan and document findings.

The candidate filling this position is ultimately responsible for ensuring all tasks are completed in the required frequency, within the required timeframe while not only guaranteeing the quality of service that the ARF, EBSH, and CCH model demands but elevating those expectations by building a culture of rigorous assurance and continuous quality/process improvement. Furthermore, this position will manage regulatory requirements mainly associated to individual care and ensure regulations are met while also committing to swiftly implementing any changes with a robust change management plan.

Although the responsibilities are diverse, depending on the individual/program needs, they would be agile and be well-positioned to respond to either imminent regulatory demands or social/program requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field related to human/social services or developmental disabilities;
  • Strong communication skills to maintain open and frequent engagement with the House Manager, consultants and IBST members regarding progress or general concerns;
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all interagency team members;
  • Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities;
  • Capacity for database management;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals; and

Inclusive of all minimum qualifications stated above (i.e. House Manager qualifications) and minimum of 2 years of regulatory knowledge, excluding LPT, QBMP.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Notify stakeholders (i.e. individuals or organizations identified in the IBST) regarding meetings and IBSP changes; to include, not limited to:
  • Individual or authorized representative, Regional Center, DDS, House Manager, behaviorist, family, clients right advocate, and others deemed necessary by the individual, or where applicable, by an authorized representative.
  • Ensure notification to all IBST members and coordinate weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and special IBST meetings, to ensure each individual is receiving optimum services, which meet their individual needs, as written in the IPP/IBSP;
  • Assurance inclusive of a Continuous Quality Improvement system (CQI). Systematically looking at data such as SIR’s and finding patterns with root cause analyses to determine which processes can be improved (i.e. staff training, retention, curriculum, process description). Then continue to analyze data to see if there were improvements.
  • Coordinate between routine and emergency medical appointments;
  • Coordinate special outings and events;
  • Coordination and oversight of initial and ongoing assessment activities;
  • Coordinate service implementation with contracted consultants;
  • Review and oversight of daily individual activity schedules;
  • Health and welfare checks;
  • Liaise between home RC, vendoring RC, authorized representative, family, friends, day programs (if applicable), community, and anyone the individual deems necessary;
  • Design training programs for individuals; particular to their interests and needs, in collaboration with the facility behaviorist, House Manager, IBST, and as stated in IBSP/IPP;
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of each IBSP;
  • Supervise and help implement IBSP’s;
  • Implement goal-oriented, therapeutic services;
  • Ensure that the facility is following all active treatment regulations;
  • Oversee and monitor individual goals, objectives, and training programs;
  • Act as primary liaison between the facility and community programs and relevant agencies;
  • Document monthly individual progress and report findings/recommendations to House Manager;
  • Oversee consultant evaluations and ensure they are completed in a timely manner;
  • Assure quality care of all individuals;
  • Assist House Manager in coordinating referrals, admissions, and transition of individuals;
  • Conduct staff training;
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet program and/or business needs.

The main goal and focus of this position is to provide the Administrator with the tools necessary to address individual needs; point of contact for all person-centered approaches and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations regarding individual specific requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
