JOB SUMMARY
:
The Purchasing Expeditor works to ensure purchase orders are recorded in databases and shipping documents align with information in the ERP system. The position supports Supply Chain Management by maintaining timely communication with stakeholders to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods to designated locations.

  • Maintains a record of open purchase orders.
  • Expedites purchase orders with vendors through emails and phone calls.
  • Works with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods to designated locations.
  • Assists purchasing agents in obtaining quotes for purchase requisitions.
  • Supports Project Management and Sales, as needed.
  • Prepares spreadsheets in MS Excel, as required.
  • Uploads documents to ERP and SharePoint folders.
  • Checks pack slips against purchase orders and receives in ERP system.
  • Prints pick tickets and pack slips for warehouse to process.
  • Schedules shipments with freight carriers.
  • Creates ship documents (BOL’s & pack slips).
  • Prepares international export shipping documents.
  • Tracks shipments.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
:
  • High School Diploma and 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain Expediting or Purchasing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Prior experience in the Engineering design, and/or commercial industrial manufacturing industry is helpful.

  • None.

COMPETENCIES
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Microsoft Office Suite; ERP systems and/or Microsoft D365 is beneficial.
  • Customer and Personal Service (intercultural skills, service minded) — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
