This DAY SHIFT position is routinely scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

This entry-level position is located in Giddings, TX , and is responsible to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of raw materials, components and parts which together form the “end product” while maintaining all Quality and Safety measures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist all purchases made at the site and for other activities as assigned by management.
• Establish and maintain the list of vendors who will accept direct bank payment and will execute Field Purchase Orders (FPO or PO) with NOV.
• Ensure that all purchases are conducted in accordance with the established procedures from the Procurement department. This includes getting necessary quotations from competing vendors where required and ensuring that management has all of the information necessary to make an informed decision about which vendor to use as well as ensuring that all purchase activities follow NOV legal and ethical guidelines.
• Work within Procurement Department guidelines to establish and maintain a list of “Preferred” vendors and work to build and maintain frame agreements with these vendors.
• Ensure that all purchases are initiated with a Purchase Request (PR) signed by the proper authority.
• Assist the import declaration for parts purchased from abroad and temporary export for repairing parts at the site.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Purchase raw material.
• Assist customers with parts sales.
• Create sales orders.
• Assist with warehouse functions such as cycle counting and order picking.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Microsoft Office knowledge required.
• Previous experience in purchasing or parts sales.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Overtime may be required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
