Job description

Our client is a leader in the industry for commercial and aerospace manufacturing and product design and development of high quality parts.

They are looking to hire a Temporary Purchasing Coordinator for a 6 month assignment to act as a liaison between purchasing, production control, manufacturing departments and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of parts and to coordinate schedules in support of operational goals and objectives. The job is Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

· Acts as liaison between purchasing, production control, manufacturing departments and suppliers/supplies to ensure on-time delivery of parts and to coordinate schedules in support of operational goals/objectives.

· Works primarily in a manufacturing environment in a fast paced environment with frequent trips to outside suppliers/suppliers (approximately 20%).

· The employee answers telephone calls, makes telephone calls, moves within the manufacturing plant and office to collect, deliver parts and copy documents.

· May purchase materials used in direct production, and when assigned demonstrate ownership over small special projects, with guidance and support.

Qualifications:

· Must have knowledge of production control procedures, manufacturing operations, and purchase part scheduling requirements. Requires 2 to 3 years’ experience in production flow or related manufacturing environment.

· Must have 1 to 2 years’ experience in materials procurement.

· Ability to utilize interpersonal skills to enhance supplier relations.

· Must be able to travel to visit suppliers/suppliers.
