The Purchasing Analyst II is responsible for the acquisition of manufacturing materials and resources including the purchase of raw materials, fabricated parts, services, tooling, MRO purchases, office supplies, and office equipment.

This position will serve our HTPG Division, located in Scottsboro, AL.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Research products, prepares purchase orders, and places orders, and selects vendors.
  • Organizes product information and tracks back orders.
  • Obtains materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
  • Studies market trends, interviews vendors, and recommends sources of supply.
  • Analyzes quotations received, selects or recommends suppliers, and schedules deliveries.
  • Maintains filing system for purchase orders, insurance certificates, MSO, scrap reports, Parts Per Million) PPM reports, and other related documents.
  • Updates, communicates, and maintains information that relates to correspondence between suppliers, material control and purchasing.
  • Maintains and updates information in the system on part numbers, pricing, freight terms, payment terms and addresses.
  • Works with Material Control and Accounts payable with researching packing slips, invoices, and receiving problems.
  • Mails Out correspondences internally and externally, packing items for shipping out to suppliers and follow up to suppliers for verification of receipt.
  • Coordinate Engineering Change Requests with Research & Development.
  • Work directly with suppliers, by submitting prints on new parts; bar coding; payment on receipts; submission of PPMs; and corrective actions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications


WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment
