Purchasing Agent I

Primary Duties:
- Work with and support DPS Purchasing Agents in maintaining contracts and purchase metrics
- Manage procurement items including data entry
- Order Department IT Hardware and Software
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Work in automated systems to create and fulfill request and purchase order documents
- Monitor, track, and follow up on documentation
- Ensures an adequate supply of documentation available in compliance with policy and code
- Run reports and process purchase orders
- Provide information regarding procurement processes and activities to vendors and end users as well as train customers on expectations
- Has the ability to pay close attention to detail and to identify errors or inconsistencies.
- Successfully follows through on assignments from start to end.
- Has experience in purchasing, contracts, procurements and FINET.
- Who have direct work experience with FINET
- Who currently work with DPS
- Who have prior purchasing experience

The Agency:
The Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) is comprised of 11 divisions and bureaus that include the Utah Highway Patrol, the Division of Emergency Management, Driver License division, Statewide Information and Analysis Center (SIAC), State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), State Fire Marshal, Highway Safety Office, Communications, State Crime Lab, Bureau of Criminal Identification, and Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST). The DPS dive team, aero bureau, CERT team and Public Protection Unit (PPU) also fall under the Department of Public Safety. DPS is made up of more than 1,500 state employees who are stationed across Utah.
